The Talìka features Faber’s patented Nautilus motor design which allows the hood to be extremely compact in depth. The Talìka is truly vertical as the unique motor design removes the need for a traditional angled design. The Nautilus motor has been designed to provide the optimum dynamics for powerful extraction – the spiral shape increases extraction pressure for optimum efficiency.

The Talìka is available in 3 innovative finishes including a copper finish, concrete and cross-titanium. The Talìka merges different textures and finishes within one unit, contrasting old metal or industrial concrete outer finishes with a white base panel. The front panel appears to be suspended above the rear panel, providing a please illusion of floating materials and optimising extraction power with two extraction points.

The Talìka wall mounted cooker hood is A rated for energy efficiency.

Winner of the RED DOT DESIGN AWARD 2017

“Faber are delighted with this award,” states Riccardo Remedi, Faber’s Managing Director. “After all, Faber has always meant innovation and progress in design as well as technology. Our kitchen hoods are part of the great Italian tradition of style and industrial design and the Talìka really is a revolutionary product.”

The Red Dot awards have given recognition to the work of top designers and manufacturers from all over the world since 1955, and have become a point of reference for everybody in the design business. Talìka, the world’s first truly vertical extractor hood, took the prize in the product design category. With this, Faber enters prestigious company indeed: previous Red Dot award winners include illustrious names like Apple, BMW and Pininfarina.

Talìka was assigned the best product design award for the spectacular, innovative finishes and clear-cut lines that identify its three versions. White back panels are paired with old copper, cross-brushed titanium and concrete front panels to create three completely different looks, all in typical Faber style. This unobtrusive but superbly elegant hood acts as a “window over the hob”. Thanks to Faber’s revolutionary Nautilus motor design at only 15 cm thick, Talìka merits a class A energy efficiency rating and can be installed completely parallel to the wall rather than at the traditional angled position.

The award ceremony will be held on the 3rd July at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany. After it, the Talìka hood will join previous award-winning products on display at the Red Dot Museum in Zollverein.
